Above, we used the chickens to weed the garden..Basically, we moved the chickens in their tractor over the weeds for the afternoon. Below is how we moved the chickens.

good thing you have some strong helpers. Looks like the chickens are doing a great job on the weeds. Are they still giving you eggs?
ReplyDeleteThe help is nice. They do make quick work of weeds if they are hungry. The challenge has been being home in the early afternoon, after they are done laying but before dark. That usually only happens once a week on Saturdays. Most of the time we are too busy to get them out on the weeds and back in the narrow window of time between laying and dark. That is one of the drawbacks to having the coop and tractor separated. It will be less of a problem in the summer.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are laying nicely. They lay 5 eggs almost every day.
The chickens do a good job. I need chickens!
